The critical point is the point where the gas liquid interface has just disappeared. The supercritical fluid has very unique physical and chemical properties. Its density is close to that of liquid, its viscosity is close to that of gas, and its characteristics such as large diffusion coefficient, small viscosity, and large dielectric constant make it a good solvent with good separation effect.
